My name is Mihai and all I do is web development,
be it server-side (Perl, PHP, mySQL) or client-side. I am mainly
interested of Web standards and related technologies. I've got good
experience with Flash as well, but I no longer like it much.
I contribute on various web standards-related mailing lists. Check
the links in the side bar (on the right). I also contribute with
reviews and comments on various web specifications (see
my CV). Additionally, I am
constantly working on several projects of my own.
I am an Opera user,
but I also like Webkit, Gecko and KHTML. I despise Internet Explorer 6 and
7 for wasting many hours of my life when coding web sites. I am an
Ubuntu Linux user - no
dual-boot.

Bună ziua!
Pentru cei ce nu ştiu, noi găzduim site-ul şi forumul Concursului
de Informatică Aplicată din 2006. O nefericită coincidenţă a făcut
ca în luna Mai a anului 2007, firma care ne găzduia de câţiva ani
să fie nevoită să-şi mute sediul, tocmai în ziua în care s-a
organizat etapa naţională concursului.
După aproximativ o lună de aşteptare, ne-am mutat la găzduirea oferită de
Dreamhost. După încă alte câteva luni de aşteptare, împreună cu
ajutorul domnilor Bogdan Valea şi Dan Gheorghe, am ajuns în posesia
datelor de pe serverul vechi.
Zilele trecute ne-am ocupat de relansarea forumului Concursului de Informatică Aplicată
2008, împreună cu forumurile anilor precedenţi, 2006 şi 2007.
Azi am lansat şi site-ul CIA 2008. Sperăm să nu
mai apară probleme.
Ne cerem scuze pentru inconvenienţa cauzată în luna Mai. Nu a fost
un eveniment prevăzut, şi nici nu l-am putut controla.
Mulţumim celor de la firma Mobius pentru că ne-au găzduit în anii
precedenţi, şi mulţumim domnilor Bogdan Valea şi Dan Gheorghe
pentru ajutorul acordat.
Notă: Noi nu facem parte din echipa organizatoare
a acestui concurs. Noi doar găzduim site-ul şi forumurile
concursului.

Hello world!
This site was kindly hosted by a company in Bucharest. On 26th of
May the company was required to move to a new location. We were not
announced and they took no measures for ensuring server uptime. The
unfortunate coincidence was that the national Contest of Applied Informatics was held on that specific
date. As visitors of this web site know, we host the web site of
this contest and the associated forum.
Unfortunately, we were not announced that the server will be moved
to a new location.
The big problem is that the Internet service provider has not yet
installed the connection at the new location. This is why we
decided to buy a hosting plan from Dreamhost. So, here we are, on a new
server. Big thanks go to Lucian Marin!
For now we were able to only upload our site and the Henri Coandă highschool site. For all the
other web sites we have no updated backups and we cannot upload
them on the new server. Once we get access to the server in
Bucharest, we will make all the web sites available again.
We apologize for any incoveniences the server down time have
caused. This is certainly an unfortunate coincidence.
